Located at the top of Corcovado, 710 meters high, the statue of Christ the Redeemer is certainly one of the best known and most visited monuments in the world.
This outing starts in the neighborhood called Cosme Velho aboard a train that goes up the slopes which are covered by a tropical rain forest until the base of the statue. The ride allows for wonderful views of Rio from many different angles.
From the top the view is fascinating: Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon, Jardim Botânico, the Jockey Club, the Lake, Maracanã Stadium. The whole city offers a magnificent panoramic view during the day which becomes scintillating and magic after sundown.
